The Body
Every Threet guitar features only select tonewoods, carefully thinned and braced for optimum sound. Tops, sanded to a nonuniform thickness, are braced with tight-grained quartersawn sitka spruce. These top braces are then scalloped for added flexibility. To ensure overall body strength, both tops and backs are gently "domed". Unless otherwise requested, bodies are bound in solid wood.

The Neck
Each neck is carved from a single piece of well-quartered Honduras mahogany and features an adjustable truss rod. The shape of the neck is up to you. Personally, I prefer necks which taper in both width and depth (unlike many modern necks, which taper only in width). Upon request, however, custom neck shapes -- as well as nut widths, etc. -- are available.

The Body/Neck Joint
A traditional dovetail joint is used for attaching the neck to the body. Unless otherwise requested, this joint is "dry-fitted" (rather than glued); secured by a screw. (For furthur information on this type of joint, click here.)

The Finish
The finish used is nitrocellulose lacquer -- for many years now the finish-of-choice among custom guitar builders. Able to be applied in a thin coat and buffed to a high gloss, it is both cosmetically and acoustically transparent.
